It's a Girl!

So we're having another girl.
To say I was surprised would be an understatement. My older sister had already "decided" what everyone was having, and I was having a boy. Coupling that with the fact that I haven't been very sick, I was pretty certain and excited for the prospect of a boy. We'd already picked out his name and everything! My mind was made up.

I was a little shocked when the technician said there was no doubt she was a girl, and Ben just laughed. Although he said he wanted another girl to save us some money, he's already informed me that he will need to "assert his manhood" and buy a chainsaw or something.

So I've switched my thinking around and am excited for this little girl to join our family. Two girls who will --hopefully-- be best friends. And her two cousins who will be born before her will also be girls, so that will be fun.

Although that part about saving money is a crock! I can't believe we didn't think of it before. Cheyenne was born in November and this baby will be born in July. Of course there is a lot of things they can share, and at least next time I have a baby girl I will be prepared for it no matter what season I have it in.

But the name! I really need your help. The baby will have a "D" name, and it needs to "fit" with Cheyenne, because we will surely be introducing the two together. I'd love it if you'd but a couple ideas in the comments!

  1. Congrats on your girl! Girls are fun as I'm sure you know. I hope we're close enough some day to have our four girls play together. Though we're a bit luckier on the saving money part as our two girls will be born a month apart calendar year wise.

As far as names go ... hmm. Just off the top of my head: Diana(e), Dana, Darcy, Danielle, Dawn, Daisy, Darla, Debra, Destiny, Dorothy.

Just out of curiosity, what was your boy's D name?

Again, we're really excited for you!

  2. Hey Ash! Congrats on baby #2!!

I am definitely thinking Delilah--it has that same long "i" as Cheyenne, as is really beautiful!

    Good luck! :)

  4. I totally know what you mean about "saving money." What season they're born in definitely makes a difference when they little. I'm EXCITED for you!

As far as "D" names, what comes to my mind is Daphne. We're having a hard time coming up with a name to go with Gwenivere! Good luck!

  5. Yeah!!! We are so excited for you! As someone who grew up with all boys, I think it will be fun for Cheyenne to have a sister. We will definetly have to start think of "D" names.

This is Dannielle by the way, not Jordan. Just realized I was logged in under his name!

  7. Congrats!
I have a cousin named Deanna (pronounced Dee-Anna, if thats not obvious) and I've always thought that was a unique, but not wierd, pretty girl's name. :)

  8. Goodness! We heard from Jer. You need to tell Ben to be more excited about babies and spread the cheer at work!

We think Darwin, Dinosaur, Dixie, Dragon, Dublin, or Dzalinda. :)
